To which I made my point which was that *is* the case, and I'm not bothered if I get my feeds via ATOM, RSS, XML, or any other technology, so long as it works, and works well.
Hehe, just wanted to clarify before anyone thinks I don't care about RSS :o)

I *do* care about RSS, just in the context of the chat that night, the panel were saying wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have to worry about RSS itself, and instead focussed more about the concept of what it is just working without being overly defined to the point of confusion and overly complicating the process.

To which I made my point which was that *is* the case, and I’m not bothered if I get my feeds via ATOM, RSS, XML, or any other technology, so long as it works, and works well.

Hehe, just wanted to clarify before anyone thinks I don’t care about RSS :o)

By: Deirdre Molloy

<guid

Another interesting point was raised by the Jonathan Allen from VNU who said RSS/feed and web widget developers need to work with content providers to make the technology more accessible and invisible.
Jonathan seemed to be saying that:
(1) content providers / producers are creating the thing that people value (although that's slightly discounting the vast array of user-created content) and RSS is just delivering it
(2) more dialogue and collaboration between the two camps is needed...
Hopefully see you <a href="http://www.nmk.co.uk/event/2006/10/17/beers-innovation-aggregators" rel="nofollow">next month</a>.

Great overview of part of the debate that went on. Good point about newspapers not currently offering 'full' text feeds. Cheers Ian.

Accurate summary of the event!
